Am I the only one with stuff so old I have to do the re-setting? At
least jump forward is better than going back!

We have a lot of clocks here ranging from analog wall clocks to digital
desk clocks. It's a PITA to fuck with them twice a year and yes,
springing forward is less of a nuisance than falling back.

Especially chiming clocks, I try to remember to do them at one o'clock
when it's fall :(

Good heavens! It'll drive a person nuts with stuff like that. My wife
bought a battery powered thing at a yard sale some years ago. I makes a
chirping sound for a different kind of bird every hour. It gets out of
sync every spring/fall when the time changes . . . a Mourning Dove makes
a Robin sound, etc. Ugh!

It takes a week to get it working right again.

No, you're not. Have a wall clock and my stove clock that need to be reset. Everything else does it automatically.

If tortured someone else for years, I am sure. That is why
it was in the yard sale. Now it is my turn! These things are
a one way street, I fear.

We get to do it again on Sunday, November 5th, 2023.

Surely if you changed it at 1 pm, the chirps would be like my ships
bells?

It can. The directions are printed on the back. I do it and
sometimes get it off by 2 hours instead of getting it right. You'd
think I could remember "Spring ahead and fall back," but I'm not very
bright after losing an hour and setting a bunch of other clocks.

I wouldn't have the damn thing, but it's the "maritial harmony"
thing. :-) It makes a noise every hour when I'm watching TV!
