I find with their GM you get what you pay for. Cheap crap a la Walmart.
We've never bought one from the SS, Doobie. But the one we bought at Kent
is still working after 3 or 4 years, and the one before that came from
Crappy Tire and lasted 5 or 6. Invest in a half-decent cover for your BBQ,
Doobie. If I'd have done that with the Crappy Tire one it most likely
wouldn't have rusted out as it did. I'd guess a PC brand wouldn't be much
different than any other brand out there today in the same price range.
Also, I've never understood why people want a BBQ with a side burner.
Depending on what's for supper the stove or microwave serves us just fine,
as the kitchen's only 20 feet or so from the BBQ. A side burner might be
handy in a power outage, but all I've ever done is fire it up occasionally
to make sure the line's not clogged. But a BBQ with a side burner is so
common these days you'll have a hard time finding one without - with the
cover on, it still makes a great "tray" though. And trays don't use
propane.
Unfortunately I have no experience with Superstore grills, but they do
look good. But as someone else said, looks can be deciving. Our
current bbq came from Walmart a couple years ago and it is fairly
crappy, not very sturdy at all. But it still works, still looks good,
so we still use it.
In the past I had a Kenmore one I think it was, bought it at Sears and
it was excellent quality. Unfortunately it did not survive well after
a VERY windy day blew it down the stairs of my deck! It was attached
to the deck, but it did hit a lot of things and got dented.
The side burner is handy if you're cooking something like lobster or
something that smells up your house. Also if it's steaming hot out,
I'll cook my mushrooms and onions and things on there instead of
firing up the stove. But you're right, I don't use it much.

of it..like its been said..you get what you pay for..4 years/$400 =
