*** Nope. Campbell is an Ontario company.
Lynch shows was broken up into Maritime Amusements and Carnival Time. I
believe there may have been a third company, as well, but they may
have already existed and simply have purchased some rides.

We need the rain, it's not as if it happens every weekend ... Well maybe
it does, but we still need the rain. {;^)
*** The urban myth that it always rained when Lynch Shows was in
town is false. I am a carnival fan and remember many, many happy, sunny
days spent at Lynch Shows.

*** Oops, that should have been "Maritime Rides and Attractions".

I'm just unsure who there where or who owned what.
A lot of the rides seemed to be similiar to ones that Bill Lunch had, just
not the same number and variety.

Well apparently there was a midway at Alderney Gate/Ferry parking lot
this weekend, so maybe the curse IS still effective...lol.
*** That was "Hinchey". I don't know if thy are still in business or
not. Another NS carnival was "Ron Elliot" from Amherst.
Note that Lynch was a *carnival*, not a circus.

*** Many carnivals buy similar rides if they are popular. As well, many
carnivals subcontract rides to other carnivals. This keeps a ride type
from being worn out with the public in one area.

*** Here's the short version:
Bill Lynch started out running amusement rides on McNab's Island. When
that ended in the 1920s, he went on the road. After 1972 when he died, the
family continued the carnival, but eventually it came to be run by
Clarence Reid and Terrance Hubley. In 1995 they died from injuries
received in a car crash. The result saw the carnival company broken up
into smaller units over the next few years.
The main one was Maritime Rides & Attractions Inc. It is currently
owned and operated by John T. Drummey, former controller for Bill Lynch
Shows for about 20 years. Another branch was Carnival Time Amusements. I
assume that one or more of its principles were also employed with Lunch
Shows, but can't say for sure.
I have not been following this lately and don't know if either are
still in business.
