I don't have one for sale but I do need some tape in Berkeley if you find one and decide to sell it.

Hey Guys,

I've been excited about the hexayurt concept for a while, and was looking forward to building one this year (even bought all that expensive tape). However I am unexpectedly going to be away on business for most of the time till burning man, and I dont think I will have time to build one (let alone get everything else in order).

Last year my BM experience was pretty wrecked by sleep deprivation and exposure, and I think a yurt is the key to a good time this year.

If anyone is looking to sell a pre-prepared H13, h12, or small (h8?) yurt, or knows a good direction to point me towards, let me know. I've reached a certain "panic" phase, and am willing to be pretty flexible on the price.

Cheers

Hi Zak, all -

I have been thinking about selling my little hexa - it's a 6' stretch w/ tall walls (6') - w/ mitered edges & all prefolding. Also has extra supports on the long walls (because i wasn't sure how that would work with the folding).

I've taken it to the playa twice - the first year, i was alone & it felt spacious (but i am pretty organized & had a separate group kitchen in which to store my food), and the second with my partner & it was cozy but still sweet (we had an extra gear tent too). the yurt held up great both times.

I have a photo of a yurt that is similar but is not mine - my friend george & I built nearly matching yurts at the same time, obvious differences b/w mine & the photo of his:
- our doors/windows are different
- I taped aluminum tape over all of my outside bi-filament to prevent sun damage to the adhesive

The yurt is located in SF, and I'm not headed to the playa this year so exact pick-up times are pretty flexible.

lmk if you or anyone else is interested!

Oops - sorry!

Semi-folding.  It's definitely "semi-folding" & not "prefolding"  - walls accordion into a stack & the roof is in 2 pieces.

Awesome, that looks like something I would be down with. I am about to get one a plane (for 20 hours :-/), but when i land and get situated we can try to arrange something (ill send you an email shortly just to make sure it goes through).

@barnum: If I do get my hands on a yurt i would be happy to sell you my tape. I bought enough to assemble a H12 i beleive, plus a little wiggle room, though i think i will need a small bit of that to rebuild this yurt when im onsite.

Many thanks guys.

I've been working on a 6' stretch and could use a hand. The two of us
together could probably knock out two much quicker. I'm in the SF Bay
Area (Peninsula).
