Hi, I would like to assemble a team of Hexayurt builders who live in Reno or the SF Bay Area for a two day cut & assemble in Reno in (maybe?) July.

There will also be two days (Sat & Sun pre gates) of assembly on the playa and one day for take down (Monday). All work days are paid & include food.

Reno Weekend: From the Bay Area, gas, shared hotel room (if no friends) & meals covered. From Reno, we feed you.

On Playa: pay, food & beer

We will have fabrication space in Reno.

We will be building Pentayurts, H12's & H15's.

Hope some of you are interested. Thanks for your considerations.

Thanks, Cheers & Peace Phoenix

Hi there Phoenix!

I'm interested. My hexayurt-experience is from H12 and H13's in plywood (I live permanently in an h13 in Oakland). I'm rather flexible in July and August for cut and assembly.
I have no experience with yurts for the playa (meaning, the insulation-material-based-ones), as this year will be my first BM. But I'm a pretty good craftsman and know a good deal from reading about the thermax-based hexayurts.

Let me know more details and if you need more info on me :)

Make a great day,
Morten

Thanks Morten, have you seen the video's linked from the wiki page on Danger Hinges? That's the tricky part, if at all. I'm impressed you living in  ply H13. Insulated? Does your h13 accordian fold?

Appreciate your interest & glad you're in the Bay Area.

We'll see how the team development goes over the next couple of months. I'd prefer the team on playa had playa building experience. You've no idea. . . .

And, of course my pref would be to keep the same team together from cut/build in Reno to the playa.

Let's stay in touch. Take a look at all the video's. The Danger Hinges are the most critical part of this construction.

peace, Phoenix
