Hi everyone,

so a while back someone suggested to use gorilla tape in addition of
the dual filament tape.
Well using gorilla tape requires to clean up the surface with rubbing
alcohol and THEN it does not even stick properly.

The morale of the story is... stick to dual filament tape because
you'll save time and money on the long run.

:-) almost happy camper, few days to the playa :D

You can clean the surface with paint thinner and a rag. Or just hose
the dust off the night before taping. No tape will stick properly when
the surface is covered with dust.

In my experience, water is v. poor at removing Playa dust, unless it has vinegar in it. Perhaps a workbench brush?

oh I get the cleaning up, etc...

I just say that overall, it's cheaper and better to use dual filament
tape than gorilla tape. At least for me it's worth the TIME not spent
doing all the prep work and have the gorilla tape fail on me.

I meant for removing the foam dust that clings to everything after the
initial cuts. That will totally defeat any adhesive.

You will save money by using the Gorilla tape to cover the raw edges
rather than waste the structural bi-di filament tape on edge cover. I
repeat, no tape will hold properly if the panels aren't cleaned of
dust first. If you're so concerned about the TIME spent doing the job
right the first time, you certainly won't enjoy the TIME and EXPENSE
of making the job right the second time after your first attempt
fails.

The recommendation is to wipe with vinegar, then have an isopropyl soaked rag running right in front of the tape as Its applied.  That right?
