Hi folks, in case anyone is organising a meeting before Sunday and
needs availability, i'm around either Saturday or Sunday. Sorry I
can't make Friday this week as already have commitments. I'm around
Thursday afternoon too although won't have access to email in the
morning. If you need my mobile no., someone email me rather than me
posting my mobile on here (although Gordy has my number already) Also
are we going for a committee google group? If we're having an agenda,
then I would like to have a point on it about how to obtain initial
funding. Look forward to seeing you all again, cheers, Mhairi

Thursday evening would be my preference, and may be good to hit the
ground running (if we can get something sorted in time).
I am away on Saturday, but would try and make Sunday.

Tell me in advance and i can do most evenings. I think it might be
prudent to contact d.newall prior to com meeting so we know where we
stand.

Hey all, I think the fairest way is we go with the majority, please
indicate on Doodle when you can make it...

I'll be e-mailing David Newall tomorrow to mark the success of the
meeting though I doubt he'll reply instantly.

Perhaps one of the other agenda points is to get a time when we can
all meet on a regular basis, say once a fortnight. Other than that, if
we're splitting up tasks eg fundraising/marketing/publicity; finance;
staff; building etc then we can sort out individually for each of
these when suits. For example, I would really appreciate input from
Eileen on day to day finance stuff and the folk with catering/business
experience to discuss projections (Eileen, I think you're going to be
much in demand!)

See you at 5 in offshore

Cheers

Hey guys, okay dokay I've tossed a coin and the time for the meeting
will be at 3pm on Sunday 14th. Venue TBC but I think one of the study
rooms on Level 4 (annex) of the Library will be my target. I'll post
more officially tomorrow when I have an actual room, we also drew up a
rough agenda this evening (which shall be posted before tomorrow
night) though obviously as it's our first meeting there will be scope
for fantastic ideas to be added as needed.

I can call in, if (outside chance) there's a phone there, or if the campus wireless permits Skype.

Talk to you then (if feasible),

Hi All,

I've uploaded the agenda for sundays meeting it's pretty sparse,
however I'm sure you'll have plenty to talk about. In future the
agenda will be circulated further in advance to allow people to add to
it before the meeting.

Also I have to give my apologies as I am away to Bedfordshire this
weekend. So if someone could minute the meeting and email me the
minutes I'll circulate and file them.

Is the Boyd Orr Open on a Sunday? I seem to remember needing FOB access to get in...

If we can't get in shall we meet at the back entrance to the Boyd Orr? (the one opposite the Comp sci building)

Hi all,
I'm afraid I won't be able to make the meeting on Sunday.

Mhairi,
if you're organising a meet for a catering sub-group, I'm on campus
mon-fri & Saturday afternoons are convenient - I can do evenings &
sunday's but a bit less predictably.
cheers
Lynn

Quite right Sara, I remembered that little issue as soon as I walked
in the library this morning. Therefore I think the best bet is to meet
in the Adam Smith building in one of the study rooms. This isn't
ideal, as I'll have to let you into the building but we can discuss a
more suitable regular venue at the meeting. Please e-mail me, and I'll
reply with my mobile number in case of problems.

I think we do have WiFi access so Skype is an option provided someone
brings a computer and makes it work, perhaps Xuan-Linh or Omar?

Thanks Michael for getting that agenda up. As he said it looks on
first glance a fairly Spartan affair but essentially we'll be drawing
up an action plan to get the show on the road and ‘How To Fix The
Club, Discuss’ doesn’t look as good as an agenda point!

Thanks to those who have sent their appologies. One of the topics for
discussion will be a suitable time which we can all attend CoM
meetings, so perhaps those who are unable to attend this meeting could
e-mail me with times they will be consistently unable to make?

Fantastic ideas?! I think it's some fantastic ideas that partly caused
the problems.
(dictionary.com definitions:
Fantastic - adjective
2. fanciful or capricious, as persons or their ideas or actions;
3. imaginary or groundless in not being based on reality;
6. highly unrealistic or impractical; outlandish)

Seriously, I suggest a period of sober reflection, followed by a
restart of _basic_ services. Festina lente.

I have a Skype account assuming I can get the wifi to work at the uni.. Probably best for somone who is a student and has tried and tested access to the Uni network.

Seamus how about you?

Do you want to register for a skype account?

Alternatively I've got skype on my mobile. we could just put it on speakerphone.

I'm free on Sunday. Will definitely bring my laptop, although I'm not
sure I can make it work properly on the wifi, but I shall try.

MY SKYPE ACCOUNT IS xlinh.labbe

For future meetings, if there is any problem to access the adam smith
building, I have the fob for the boyd orr (but I'm not sure which
rooms are open during the week-end apart from my lab).

For meeting planning, should we have a separate mailing list (a simple
reply-all thing) so as not to spam the non committee members of the
googlegroup, and just post the arranged dates and times on it without
the whole thread of emails?

See you guys on Sunday.

Do recall, everyone, that because this list is archived, message content ends up publicly available. That's easy to forget. Google do do some basic obscuring of obvious email addresses, but some things might be better done in off-list email.
