Dear HET community,

As of tonight we have begun observing for the 22-2 trimester and I wanted to let you know that the 22-2 beginning of trimester report has been updated with details about this current period:

In particular I want to bring your attention to the updated statistics on sky quality here:
You can check the average seeing for each trimester in order to know, for example, whether it's feasible to request 1.1" seeing for a Priority 3 target in the winter trimester (short answer: no). Let me know if you have questions about these, and I hope they are informative.

Additionally, the 22-1 end of trimester report is also available, with the usual statistics and information about the trimester that was:

All previous reports are available here:

Let me know if you have any questions or feedback on these reports.

Dear HET community,

I wanted to let you know that I've updated the:
available at the usual location:

As you may already be aware, HPF was released for high-precision RV observations on August 1st when the 22-3 trimester began. The HPF engineering downtime was successful in stabilizing the pedestal level and many other tasks. Because of the significant thermal variations during the downtime, the HPF team wants to make sure all PIs are aware that the pre- and post-engineering work data streams should formally be treated as different RV streams. Please reach out if you have questions about this.

Additionally the Acknowledgements for HET and each instrument have been updated here:

We are currently offline for planned engineering work on the probe assembly, and anticipate returning to normal operations later this week.

Dear HET community,

I wanted to let you know that I've updated the:
There are a number of important updates, so please read these carefully! In particular, I wanted to highlight:

1) the HET Board has approved a new publication policy and our website is updated with that new information: https://hydra.as.utexas.edu/?a=help&h=61
Please read this carefully and cite the appropriate references in all publications using HET data.

2) the HPF team has shared an important update on an unusual jump in the wavelength drift.

3) "Collecting Efficiency" values are now being provided for every observation in preparation for the deprecation of "SKYTRANS" as a TSL keyword.

Observations for the 23-1 trimester are well underway. Please reach out if you have any questions about any of the information contained in these reports.

Dear HET community,

I wanted to let you know that I've updated the:
As described in more detail in those reports, we are working towards deploying the new TSL keyword "CE" (Collecting Efficiency) to replace SKYTRANS starting in the 23-3 trimester, so please familiarize yourself with the information in the trimester reports and in our documentation here:  https://hydra.as.utexas.edu/?a=help&h=140

23-2 observations are well underway and we are off to a good start. Please reach out if you have any questions about any of the information contained in these reports, or anything else.
