Dear HET folks,

It's been a while since I've sent an email like this, but the HET's queue in the 24-1 trimester has a noticeably "thin" spot around 12h LST. I am hopeful that some programs are still planning to submit more targets, but wanted to raise this opportunity for folks to consider.

From about 11-13h LST there is a significant opportunity for priority 4 targets, particularly during bright/grey time. I'm attaching a constellation map with the HET annulus overlaid at 11, 12, and 13h LST (I know it can be a little hard to visualize).

This area on the sky is roughly in the range:
RA = 9.5 - 14.5 hr
Dec = -5 to +65 deg
but of course the closer you can be to the center of that region the better chances of your targets being observed, and the corners of that square region are still more competitive.

Let me know this week if you have questions and I hope some of our creative bright time users might be inspired to think about additional bright time targets in Bootes, Coma, Leo, or Ursa Major (yes this is basically the HETDEX footprint).
