Hi all

Apologies, the event is in February, Sorry about the confusion.

I have corrected the dates below.

It's almost time for the 2024 Single Handed Heron World Championship regatta at Port Hacking.

Racing will be over 5 races conducted on Saturday 24th February and Sunday 25th of February 2024.

This is going to be a great event and lots of fun as always.

It would be a shame to miss out so think about giving it a go.

An invitation to sail and formal notice of race will be posted next week.

For those from interstate, the ACT and those who would need to travel a fair distance, the use of the club facilities will be offered for overnight stays including Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Details to come.

Entry to the event is $20.00 to cover cost of rescue boat fuel and sausage sizzle on Saturday Night.

Best of sailing and hope to see you there for what should turn out to be a classic event.

Regards

Hi Guys

The 9th annual Heron World Single Handed Championship has again been run and won.

Congratulation to Mick Armstrong in Heron 10363 who won the event convincingly winning 3 of the 5 races in both heavy weather and calm conditions.
A sterling performance.

Also, congratulations to the runners up with Steve Imlay in Flat Chat 10250 taking out second place with one win on race 5 on day 2 and placing second for all the other races missing out by one point, and Chris Carey in She Said Yes 10288 who came in 3rd overall and won the 3rd race on day 1.

The rest of us lingering behind need to lift our game for next years event.

The racing on Saturday was exhausting with very fresh winds and strong gusts with several retirements and capsizes, whilst Sunday was extremely light until the seabreeze kicked in later in the day.

It was a great event with all participants having a great time.

See you all there next year for the 10th running of this unique event.

Regards

Peter Connor
