Hi all,

some users have reported that at times they get an app error when coming into Hoptoad via the Heroku SSO.

At this point, it looks like it's an issue with the nginx configuration. I can't reproduce this myself with my own account and projects that use the addon.

So, is it possible for us to generate nav-data ourselves, so that we can generate a URL that is known to fail reliably, so that we can tune the nginx configuration and be able to solve the problem?

Hey Harold,

Sorry for the delay! Did you get this figured out?

I think Kensa is the best way to generate nav-data. If you run kensa
test sso <id> it will generate a stub nav-data against your local
server.

Let me know if that works out!

Thanks,
Pedro

Hi Pedro,
Thanks for following up. I was able to hit the production app with the
kensa tool, but it doesn't reproduce the problem.

Seeing that this only occurs on a handful of users, and considering
the amount of time we've already spent troubleshooting it, I'm ready
to call this a documented "known issue" until we are able to reproduce
it ourselves.

If anyone has any thoughts, I'm all ears!

thanks,
-Harold
