Hi all

I've just had my first customer using the new Cedar stack, and it turns out my approach for connecting Sphinx to Heroku databases fails. I've tested this myself on another app and hit the same problem - but it's all fine on Bamboo.

What the flying-sphinx gem does is sets up an SSH connection from the app to one of my Sphinx servers - and then uses a reverse port forward over SSH to allow Sphinx access to the app's Heroku database. The problem is that the SSH connection times out - does the Cedar stack block unknown connections outwards?

Happy to discuss this in more depth here, over IM or Skype or whatever. Obviously, I'm pretty keen to get it working :)

Cheers
