HEN Habitat Heroes
WHEN: Saturday, October 21, 9:00 am to 11:00 am
WHERE: Stanton Park, Third Street, Herndon
Stanton Park is a 10-acre neighborhood park that has large areas left in their natural state. Like most natural areas around here, the park is threatened by non-native invasive plants. The spread of these invasives decreases biodiversity and harms wildlife, thus reducing the quality of the environment.
Join us in our effort to reduce the spread of invasive plants such as Japanese wisteria, burning bush, English ivy and multiflora rose.
We will meet at the park entrance located at 910 Third Street. Bring water and bug spray and make sure you wear long sleeves and long pants - there is poison ivy at this site. Closed-toe shoes highly recommended. We are providing gloves and tools. To sign up, visit http://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040445a5aa2da02-invasive1
Please email in...@herndonenvironment.org if you have any questions.
