Hermit & R statistical language

Hello,

I have two linked questions:

1) What's the easiest and the most efficient way to use Hermit into R, and/or with R objects ?

2) Is it possible/efficient to implement the algorithm(s) of Hermit in R?

I didn't find any documentation to begin...

About 1), there are several interfaces to call java from R and vice versa. For example:

I am not sure about 2) I guess it would require a huge implementation effort, but i do not have much experience with R apart from the basics.
