Launchpad repository of hermes2d has been established:

https://launchpad.net/~lukas-korous/+archive/ppa

containing the Hermes2.0 release. And the new Hermes3.0 is on its way.

I saw that it's built for raring. Any specific reason for raring only?
How about slightly older versions? I'm currently using quantal.
