Hermes Lite with MercuryIII amplifier

Totally embarrassed to ask however I am having great difficulty driving my Mercury III with my Hermes Lite.  On air lamp is lit on the Mercury and a spike on the waterfall on the Thetis but that is the extent of it.  No current draw or power scale on the Mercury III.  I know I’m missing something.   Have yet to make contacts on either piece of equipment.    Your learned opinion are most welcome.   Thanks l

I was able to get the Hermes Lite 2 to work with the Mercury Lux, which should be pretty similar to the IIIs. I first made a couple of contacts QRP with just to HL2. You need to enable the internal PA in Thetis and set the power output to an appropriate level. Then the MOX button will enable transmit but you won't see anything in the meter unless you say something into the mic (assuming you are using SSB). Press MOX again to switch to receive. 

To use the Mercury LUX, plug the PTT cable you got with the amp into the exttr RCA connector on the HL2. The default timing settings on the HL2 are okay. There shouldn't be any hot switching of the amp with those settings.

Hi Art.  Yes tune doesn't make a difference.  Keyed up lights off the amp but only outputs 5-7 amps average on SSB  I'm missing something in the set up I'm sure but flummoxed as to what.
