There is a final release, v2.10.3.5 of Thetis for HL2.

Release now uses an installer

- Updated to allow RF off delay before releasing PTT for Tun & 2TON
- Updated to not overwrite txtPSpeak for PS
- Updated to handle existing database.bak

There is a first release, v2.10.3.6-beta1 of Thetis for HL2.

Release now uses an installer

- Updated code base to latest official release (2.10.3.6 dev_4) including improved NR2

There is no need to install the v2.10.3.5 first, you can just go straight to the new beta1

WARNING

This release now contains an installer and will install in the same place as the official Thetis. If you have other Anan radios, this release will work with them, but you must define separate databases with the command line "-datapath" option.

More information on this can be found at Nigel (G4ZAL) blog,

 https://g4zal.blogspot.com/2024/02/multiple-instances-of-thetis.html

Be aware that the official Thetis is still not HL2 aware, so there may be issues if you try and use a HL2 database with the official release.

This release may need a reset of the database or even a complete rebuild of the setup. You may need to use the Ctrl key at startup to reset things. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

It would be helpful if users could test this release and report bugs in Github, as this will probably be the same code that will appear in the next official Thetis release with HL2 support.

Details of the release can be found in the release notes accessible via the Thetis Setup panel.

No warranty or guarantee, use at your own risk. It should use its own database but do a backup of your current Thetis one just in case.

Cheers

I've installed the beta release but get the attached error messages when trying to start Thetis. Any ideas will be appreciated,

I had the same error as well. I then held the Control key down, while launching Thetis, and this cleared the database, and closed out the program.
Then I launched it normally, and it came up fine. Of course, this means you have to manually set your options through Thetis from scratch, but it all works great.

Did you hold the Ctrl key down until you got a message?

Correct on the above action with Control Key on start up should not lose any information as your Data Base and Transmissiom Profiles will reload. Its only if you do not back up and save Transmit Profiles..... The latest update I just installed fine and works well cheers Greg VK3KV

Reid- install was seemless. Took all of 5 minutes counting download and launching installer until I was back up and running. I did not have to hold down ctrl key to clear db. I suspect because I'd previously had to do so on the last beta release of 2.10.3.5.

I believe I found a bug in thetis last night.  I was changing around headsets and was trying to get a heik pro-7 up and running.  The headset has a mic setup for a yeasu so the level is very low.  I had increased the mic level on the screen up to around 52- 54.  shut things down and then restarted for some reason.  I got an error saying that the value 52 was out of range from min and max.  It was working when thetis was running but it must not have liked the value when restarting at startup.  I then tried to find the value listed in the database file but was not able to.  So I tried uninstalling thetis and upgrading to this version.  Still same error message.  I then deleted the roaming app data and another clean instal then everything came to life.  I was unable to get back int thetis to change the mic value to within parameter.  just thought I would bring that up.

I did the ctrl key and that worked. Unfortunately after trying to import the database from 2.10.3.4 it didn't work anymore again and again I get the same error message.
What I don't understand is why after the installation I find that
1. the old installation 2.10.3.4 still works. It is installed in F:\Documents\Ham\Hermes-Lite2-CompactTRX\software\Release
2. after installing 2.10.3.5 I find it in 2 directories. Properties in the start menu for the 2.10.3.5 point to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OpenHPSDR\Thetis-x64
and in this folder I only find 6 pdf files and Thetis-x64.exe
3. i gets weirder as I also find Thetis in this folder: C:\Program Files\OpenHPSDR\Thetis
At no time did the install ask in which folder I want to install it. After doing an uninstall this folder is empty.
After the uninstall I did a fresh install and the folder is now filled. But starting with the control key I still get the same error message. And again the Thetis-64 in the start menu point to
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OpenHPSDR\Thetis-x64 with the pdf files and the Thetis-64.exe all with the time and date of now.
Starting Thetis from the start menu or the folder i still get the same error.
2.10.3.4 is still working. I don't really want to remove it at this time.
Any suggestions?

The database should have been converted with Ctrl. Trying to import old databases can break things again.

What I don't understand is why after the installation I find that
1. the old installation 2.10.3.4 still works. It is installed in F:\Documents\Ham\Hermes-Lite2-CompactTRX\software\Release

It uses a database in a different directory.

2. after installing 2.10.3.5 I find it in 2 directories. Properties in the start menu for the 2.10.3.5 point to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OpenHPSDR\Thetis-x64
and in this folder I only find 6 pdf files and Thetis-x64.exe

This is standard installer behaviour and the .exe is a short cut to the real program in the Program Files directory.

3. i gets weirder as I also find Thetis in this folder: C:\Program Files\OpenHPSDR\Thetis
At no time did the install ask in which folder I want to install it. After doing an uninstall this folder is empty.

Nothing weird here, the standard place for programs to be installed.

Again standard place for the install.

Starting Thetis from the start menu or the folder i still get the same error.
2.10.3.4 is still working. I don't really want to remove it at this time.
Any suggestions?

If Ctrl trick doesn't work any more, sorry, but you will probably have to remove the database and setup Thetis again.

Thanks Reid, I'll remove it and will let you know.

Does the 2.10.3.4 that is installed in a totally different directory has to be removed too?

No, it should be OK but it be looking for the database in a different directory, Thetis-HL2-x64. That directory should have been renamed from Thetis-HL2-x64 to Thetis-x64.

The problem will come if you try and run 2.10.3.4, as it will create a new Thetis-HL2-x64. The 2.10.3.5 will try and convert it, which end with you losing the database altogether.

Up grade and don't go back, in fact you should move on the the 2.10.3.6-beta1 which has the new NR2 which is impressive.

That is a crazy amount of digital mic gain. Since digital gain applies evenly across the entire audio signal, it will also amplify noise. Try to increase the level coming in to the PC first!

Installed latest 2.10.3.6 Beta  , had to use the ctrl key but otherwise no issues, memories, USB VFO control, Containers all working as before. Thanks Reid for your efforts.

Reid,

I exported the configurations and did copy every folders that had Thetris files to an external USB drive. After that I deleted those folders.
I rebooted my PC and reinstalled Thetris. Started it with ctrl pressed. After it was done with the fft calculation and restarted I copied my configuration file
to the new folder and now everything is working great.

Thanks for the help.
