HL2 and hardrock-50 quick setup?

I just got my HL2 setup and am waiting for the io board, want to do and test quick set up with both. My thoughts .. set the Hardrock to COR, other,9600 baud, manual bandswitch and reduce power on HL2 to 3 watts…thats my plan until io board comes.. is that correct?
