FLDIGI on HL2

Anyone here been successful in setting up FLDIGI on HL2? I need help or a suggestion for an alternative digital software package that you haave succeeded in setting up and are using. My interest initially is in PSK31. Thanks!

Hey Jim,

I've successfully used FLDigi using Thetis as the SDR software. You should be able to do the same with really any compatible software you'd like, eg. SDR Console, SparkSDR, etc. It's just a matter of setting up the audio input and output via Virtual Audio Cable, VB Cable, or similar software. 

Which software do you want to use to operate the HL2 with? That's really the place to start. I recommend Thetis, personally, due to the many features and the UI. However, SparkSDR has PSK31 and some other digital modes built in and doesn't necessarily require integration with FLDigi (although FLDigi probably does a much better job of decoding PSK31). 

Once you've chosen your software, we can discuss how to configure it it for digital modes like PSK31.

Hi Ed,

          I've got Thetis v2.10.0 x64, FW v7.3 Protocol1, HL2-Beta2 running nicely as well as FLdigi 4.200 but can't figure out the correct settings for VAC2 (I've enabled for digital and DIGU mode). Nothing shows up on my FLdigi waterfall. Can you give me some pointers? Thanks so much and hope to have a QSOw/ you once I've sorted it all out.

Hey Jim,

I'd start by configuring things the way I have shown in the attached images. You'll notice that the audio input and output in FLDigi are reversed from Thetis. That is to say, the output of Thetis (eg. Line 2) should be the input in FLDigi and vise versa. Make sure the sample rate is 48000 and decrease your buffer latency in Thetis. 

Let me know if you have any luck after configuring things as shown.
