This is the final release of v2.10.3.12 of Thetis for the HL2.

https://github.com/mi0bot/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/releases

  • Upgraded to allow Pure Signal at full sample rate (384K)

IMPORTANT NOTE: please follow the steps below for this version

Take backup of your DB before you uninstall the old version of Thetis, use DB manager to do this Un-install the previous

Thetis install(s) using Add/Remove Programs. Uninstalling via Add/Remove Programs will leave your database intact

Remove your wdspWisdom00 file from %appdata%\OpenHPSDR\Thetis-x64

Install this new version, and reboot, even if not requsted to do so.

Restart this new version and wait for wisdom regenerated. This could take upwards of 5 mins, follow the on screen instructions

This release contains the database manager. If you have other Anan radios, this release will work with them, but you must define separate databases and select the correct database with the -dbid: option. This release creates the shortcut with -dbid:HL2. As the official release of Thetis for the Anan series of radios is not HL2 aware, there may be issues if you try to use the official Thetis with a database that is HL2 aware. Please back up your databases.

There is no need for the official Thetis release to be installed before this release. If you have the official release installed, this release will not overwrite it.

No warranty or guarantee, use at your own risk. Do a backup of your current Thetis database just in case and ensure correct power output.

Hi Reid,
perfect - I like it - this brought back the 384KHz working with pure signal.

Do you happen to know what the issue was?

Many thanks,

Hi Jürgen,

Protocol 1 is normally considered to be 192K only but the HL2 can do 384K. I just needed to make an acceptation for the HL2, when it came to PS. I'm not sure if it was there before and got knocked out in a merge operation but it's back and I now know were to look for it in future.

Cheers

It has nothing to do with the hardware. It was just the *assumption* that ethernet
speed is limited to 100GBit/sec for P1 (*this* limits PS to 192k). However many
P1 radios (HL2, RedPitaya-based stuff, etc.) run P1 and their ethernet adapter
can do 1GBit/sec. So the „384k problem“ occurs there as well.

So the design question for Thetis is, what is the default and what is
the exception. piHPSDR lets the user choose 384k with PS and P1, and this
(of course) leads to chaos for P1 radios which cannot do 1 Gbit/sec.
But this also poses no restrictions where no restrictions are due.

Which way is the right one depends on the beholder.

Yours,

Hi,
I am sure it was a software Problem. The issue was when having 384K set and you enabled PS auto the signal was extremly distorted and wide. In very early versions of Thetis/PowerSdr that function worked. "Single cal" was always ok. I could imagine that there was e.g. a too small array in use, or kind of internal memory overflow ... I looked in the code, but was not able to get my arms around it.

However it is now working again and I am really happy about it.

Followed instructions very carefully it didn't change the Pure signal issue with 384khz, if you attempt to use 384khz the same exact distortion of tx audio occurs.

Out of interest, what is the difference between Thetis for HL2 when using it with Anan G2 versus the Thetis version of Ritchie in respect of software coding?

Sample Rate Setting:
Go to Setup -> Hardware Config.
Ensure the Sample Rate is set to 384,000 (or the maximum value available around 350-384 kHz). Keep in mind that this requires a stable Gigabit Ethernet connection, as the data throughput increases significantly.
PureSignal Configuration:
Navigate to Setup -> Transmit -> Linearity (PureSignal).
Verify that PS-A (PureSignal Adaptive) is enabled.
Calibration (Single Cal vs Auto):
In the latest versions, using PureSignal at 384 kHz with "Auto" sensing can sometimes be unstable or cause distorted audio. If you encounter issues, try using Single Cal.

Please check if Console|Linearity|PureSignal 2.0|STBL is ticked. It has been reported by Richie on Discord that fresh databases don't have this set, and a failing database did. Please uncheck it and report if the problem has cleared.

None of the above suggestions work, By the time it works (no distorted tx)  PURE SIGNAL NO LONGER WORKS! Too many strange hoops to jump through for this to be a proper update.

It works great for me.  I didn't have to change anything.

Yes you never tried to switch to 38.4 sample rate lol.

Are you sure that Pure Signal is properly activated?
