HL2 <--> Xiego GPA100 Success

I have given up on Micro PA 50/100 anything.

The design uses cheap switching power supply mosfests that die in AM/FT8 mode. I see many deaths reported on the Facebook support page and I have had 2. Recycle has been deployed. New ones on eBAY are being sold with 4 spare mosfets! A big tell, eh?

I purchased the latest Xiego GPA100 amp.

It is robust, has quiet fans - heavy duty design with 2 strong push-pull 100 watt Mosfets.

Fortunately, the GPA100 has the same  MINI DIN 6 ACC1 pinouts as the XPA125B amp.

1. Download and install the pico CPU firmware that supports GND, PTT and BAND volatges on the IO Board DB9. Perform the USB connection and file copy  with the HL2 off, ever works with HL2 powered on.

2. Install 3 jumpers on the IO Board per M0AWS.

3. CAREFULLY  build a DB9 to MINI DIN6 cable - be mindfull of the male, female thingies. The GPA100 manual shows the female pinout view, not labled,

4. Set GPA100 to AUTO mode via ACC, not Bluetooth.

My HL2 now has a more professional big brother.
