Hi Group,

Below is a screenshot of WSJTX/Quisk/Hermes-Lite 2.0 beta3 working FT8 on 20M. It has been pretty active even with an attic dipole. FT8 is harder to work with only 5W of power, but everyone seems to be using it now. There is very little JT9 activity anymore, which is a shame as JT9 was perfect for QRP.

Hi John,

Not sure if I am interpreting you e-mail as intended, but even with 4x the number of potential QSOs on FT8, I don't think I am even 1/4 of what I was able to do with JT9, especially for DX. I don't think there is a linear relation, and the extra 6 to 7 dB with JT9 seems to make a big difference for my 5W. I'd love to see a better more systematic study as my data is just "feels like" so far.

Hi Steve, and Group,

I have my HL2 up and running on Linux-Mint very nicely under Quisk. receive and transmit is great using Spot, PTT, and VOX. Everything is set up and happily gives 5 Watts into 50 Ohms on 40m.

My problem is that when using WSJT-X (v1.8.0) although I can receive in all modes perfectly whenever I try to use the transmit feature I get the error: "Hamlib error: Invalid parameter while setting current VFO mode".

I guess I have a configuration set-up error?

Hi Tony,

Set your port to localhost:4575 as shown below. More details are at http://james.ahlstrom.name/quisk/docs.html

I've been pretty happy with my WSJT-X/HL2/Quisk setup on Linux here. Occasionally, maybe 1 out of 10 transmissions, I will see a very short "crackle" during transmit. You will see it on the Quisk waterfall, and the power output will drop. I've been trying to track this down to software or hardware. I'm interested in whether you see this too.

The localhost setting was the issue, I must have missed restarting Quisk AND WSJT-X when I tried it previously.

Any way all is good now. I hope to post some pictures of my modified "WB6DHW MPLF" filter which I'm using with the HL2 in the near future.
