Hello,

I have a Hermes Lite 2 that I purchased from MakerFabs and is unmodded. I also have a second HL2 that I have modded to use the HL2+ add-on board.

The HL2+ unit is functioning well on all bands and modes supported, and power output is acceptable and where it should be expected. The un-modified HL2 is functioning as expected however is having issues with 160m power output.

Symptoms seem to be initially putting out power and then very quickly dropping to zero or near zero. Temperature and PA current are not as expected. For all bands 80m thru 10, it performs as expected.

Settings between the two units do seem to be the same, so the only difference is that one is modified for use with the HL2+ board.

I'll be happy to go further into more in-depth testing to diagnose but I'm a little lost as to where I should start.

Software is PiHPSDR latest release compiled from source. Standard 7.42 gateware.

I even went in to validate the PA bias was set correctly on the problem unit using Quisk and it does seem to be correct.

So, any ideas? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is what I'm seeing when I have it set to TX a tune tone at 100% drive. Reducing drive to around 70% will cause it to register a temperature but power in mA the same 2069. Reducing below 51% it will start showing reduced power in mA. Temperature is pretty high when at 50% drive, usually above 50 celcius and climbing.

I noticed that the power does creep up to 2069mA and temp as well on other bands but still puts out expected power.

Hope this helps. Something definitely not right here.

resolved. Seems i had one or more stuck relays and a light love-tap seems to have got them sorted. Will have to keep an eye on that.

Thanks to Mike K7MDL for setting me in the right direction.
