Wondering if someone can help me out to understand the audio chain/setup for PowerSDR MRX and using other software like FLDIGI/WSJT-X.  It appears that in the Setup of PowerSDR MRX when using the windows direct sound driver/input/output hearing signals just fine but when entering input/output for virtual audio cable lines 1 & 2 to feed over to software programs like FLDIGI/WSJT-X no sound/audio from HL2 but then able use vitural audio cables 1 & 2 for software like FLDIGI/WSJT-X works fine (would like to know the trick to hear both audio from the HL2 and feed software both if this is possible...thought it would work like my FLEX1500 does but maybe not).

Anyone have any advice on this issue?

Or if anyone in the group could email me off list at KB9UMT AT ARRL.net to share your PowerSDR MRX setup audio screenshots and screenshots of audio settings to other software i.e. FLDIGI/WSJT-X it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help

The trick to hearing PowerSDR audio in/out during digital mode operation ...

If you have diverted PowerSDR inputs and outputs to stream audio to and from a digital mode program, then you no longer hear the receiver output, like you found. There are several ways of hearing these signals again. One way is to use Virtual Audio Cables' Repeater application - you can start as many of them as you need. All a Repeater does is link an audio input to an audio output. In your case, use a Repeater to link one of the audio cable lines to your speaker output, to hear that signal again. See here for more explanation. If you also wanted to hear the other audio cable line, start another Repeater and link the other audio cableline to the speaker output. Notice Windows will mix these toegther quite happily, so you can hear both receiver and transmit signals.

Don,

I wrote this paper for a radio ham starting out with data mode operation. He was using a simple SDR called MSCC, but the same principles apply to PowerSDR - connecting two programs by audio and control links. Hope it answers a few questions.

Don,
You can activate "Listen to this device" for your virtual audio cable.

Hi Don,
I've had sdrs since they first appeared, but the Hermes Lite is my favourite, so much from such a small box. I've tried several Powersdr varieties with it, but prefer Sdr-console from Simon Brown G4ELI. That's a very professional package and worth a look. (They all do a good job) Good to hear your digimode is working better.

Hi Don,
You are welcome Don.
The forum rejected my message. Only the annotation "Message Deleted" appeared
The second attempt without a photo and only the text was rejected in the same way.

So I sent you directly in a private message.

But the strange thing is that after a dozen or so minutes another attempt to send the same message to the forum was not rejected anymore
