New HL2 (arrived today) -can't update firmware

Help!

Eveything working as expected until I tried to update the firmware to 10RX using SparkSDR (hl2b5up_cicrx.rbf)

• Firmware load seems to go OK.
• LED1 flashing fast and LED2 slower LED3&4 both on. eth port lights are flashing green/solid orange.
• Seems not to be getting an IP from DHCP as no longer seen on the network.

Factory reset, works OK.

Tried loading newest firmware (hl2b5up_main.rbf); same symptoms.

Again factory reset returns to normal.  Have repeated this several times.

Do I have a faulty unit or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Malcolm,

Boot the factory image and then check with SparkSDR to make sure you didn't accidentally specify a fixed IP or turn off favor dhcp. Also, did you remove power and do a cold reboot after programming the first image? This is not necessary once a second image is present, but is necessary when writing the second image for the first time.
