Any idea about pricing and availability? Would avoid customs duties.

It was discussed on here back in April...

Hi Johan,

Yes, it is surprising. There is a bit of discussion back in April as Nigel pointed to. As far as I can tell, this combines the N2ADR filter board with the HL2 into one 10cmX10cm board, but only has minor changes (power supply input, EXTTR) to the schematic and overall functionality. I don't really understand the motivation to do this. What is the primary motivation for this? To reduce size or cost?

I recently came across this new FPGA board which reminded me a bit of the radioberry:

It includes the FPGA and uses RISC-V (not as computationally powerful as the RPi 4 or later), but only a AD9866 cape would be required.

Hi Steve,

That is some time ago.

The new board is not adding new  possiblities or uses different improved components after almost 10 years of starting HL. However the work done at the new board does looks very nice.

When going for new developement i would like to see some nice additional features. Things like beamforming. It is already a quite time in my mind to combine multiple remote sdr radio for beamforming.

The idea of a small board containing only a ADC/DAC is indeed very challeging. Plugin to a controller ; like beagleboard or maybe the new RPI-5 which is released; contains a RP1 chip which is having pcie and a seperate pcie interface.

At this moment iam busy at my QRL and not to much time for new developement. Althoug i am currently working in slow pace with a 600 W class A/B amplifier containg an ethernet controller (RPI2040 and ETH module) which communicates via the radioberry firmware to exchange info.  The development is going in baby steps, hi but there is some progress.

Have with our nice radio hobby.
