piHPSDR encoder IO addresses ignored in gpio.props

I am trying to reverse some of the encoder directions on a Controller2 v2.

Previously i used the  g0orx version and was able to do that by modifying the IO addresses in the gpio.props file.

Now i  updated to the Christoph's ( DL1YCF) V2.5 and this modification no longer works.

What i have tried so far:

- removed the gpio.props file to ensure i am working on the correct file located in  $HOME/pihpsdr

-> As expected no switches or encoders are working

- swapped the A and B addresses of a top and a bottom decoder

-> No change in decoder direction

-swapped the address pair (A&B) between a bottom and top decoder

-> No change, both decoder are still controlling the same setting ad before

Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Is there another location to modify the decoder direction?
