Hi daft question from a new user,I have fitted the hl2 motherboard add on to my unit does this mean I don,t have to use a usb mike on the computer but can go thru the hermes lite 2

You have been duped into buying an expensive networked sound card which is only usable with the HL2, especially for audio modes. This addon is not recommended and voids your warranty as it requires a modification to the main board. For anyone thinking about modifying the main board, please only consider that once your warranty has expired and you have tested the core HL2.

There is misinformation going around that the AK4951 board provides zero audio latency for audio modes. This is incorrect. Users are confused because it, like other off-the-shelf soundcards, includes direct monitoring of the microphone audio. All audio for transmit or receive must go to software on a host computer for processing and then back to the HL2 for transmission. This is software defined radio and there is no modulation or demodulation done on the HL2. See:
