Not that trading a Key for a Microphone changes things.

Does the Group had a recommendation for a Microphone to use with SparkSDR/OpenHPSDR/LINSDR for Voice/Phone QSO's.

I am running OSX Catalina on an Apple Mac Laptop and Apple Mac Mini.

Thanks for your time and consideration,

Hi jpw
I was using a Microsoft lifechat lx-3000 and that worked fine. I then bought a Blue Yeti, but my wife stole it so I also got the cheaper Blue snowball ice, these intially got audio reports that it was far too 'BBC' and needed more top end which is when I added mic eq to spark.  My current settings look like this

These better computer mics appear to need some eq to work well for radio and I'm not sure give any benefit, I bought them for a different purpose but it is nice to have one mic for everything.

I'm using the same trusty old Yamaha over the ear boom mic/headset I use with other rigs. I used a TRRS plug to mic and headphone jack cable.

Has anyone tried any of the Heil products with HL2?

We had Mr. Heil himself talk to our radio club via Zoom, his products are quite impressive, yet do cost some money.

I am kind of torn between single ear and dual ear set ups.

I now have a Sennheiser headset with boom mic I bought for teleconferencing a long time ago, and often find myself putting one earpiece off to the side, yet I think for radio work I may miss having both earpieces.

I am also thinking of POTA/SOTA stuff so smaller/lighter is better.
