And is there documentation for the protocol?

I've powered up my new HL2,, directly connected to my Google Wifi via Ethernet cable, and I can ping its DHCP address from my laptop, which is connected to the Google Wifi over wife.  When I run hl2setup_ubuntu64, it finds nothing, though we're on the same DHCP sub-net, 192.168.86.*.  So, I think there is problem, e.g. the Google Wifi may be blocking a port on the lan.  What port is the hf2setup programming scanning for?

Thanks,
Bill

The HL2 default UDP port is port 1024.  The python script hermeslite.py also uses port 1025.
My M1 MacBook blocks UDP broadcasts from user accounts, so I had to modify hl2setup to walk the local subnet instead of doing a UDP broadcast to discover the HL2.

The protocol is 2 old USB port communication protocol V packets, with a few HL2 modifications, wrapped in Metis Protocol 1 for use over TCP.  See: https://github.com/softerhardware/Hermes-Lite2/wiki/Protocol
The source code for both hl2setup and my hl2_tcp.c (https://github.com/hotpaw2/hl2_tcp) might be good starting points in you grok c++ or c.
