I accidentally connected a foot switch to the key input while Hermes was on and Deskhpsdr was running. Deskhpsdr crashed and I couldn't get it to connect. I tried to change the IP in Spark, but it wouldn’t connect and is stuck at 192.168.10.38 and I can not change it.
I tried Spark on a pc, but there isn’t any IP.

D2 and D3 are flashing
D4 and D5 are solid

I checked the voltages on the troubleshooting wiki.
1v2 is correct
2v5 shows 0
3v3 is correct

Did is brick the board?
Thanks,

Switch off the Hermes and remove the foot switch then make a short between the centre pin of ptt/footswitch  and the Hermes body as you turn back on the hermes.

Ground the centre pin to the metal case, I
Just used a pair of pointy nose pliers when it happened to me.

I tried that, many times and nothing changed.

Hi Irodmedia,

I'm surprised your board does anything without 2.5V. That voltage is necessary for the PLLs to work in the FPGA. Can you please measure the 2.5V again on both sides of FB28 and FB30 relative to ground?

Is it correct that no software is able to connect? Software must be able to connect to read and change and IP settings, so the 192.168.10.38 seen in SparkSDR is probably just a software leftover and has nothing to do with the current HL2 settings.

Did the footswitch inject power into the HL2? Any passive switch connected to the key/ptt input should not be a problem, even if all 3 wires are shorted together. Those pins aren't even associated with the 2.5V source.

See the schematic at:

Hi Steve,
FB 28 was removed for some reason and I don't remember why. I do have 2.5 volts on the pad closest to FB 5.

I can’t find FB 30 anywhere.

You are correct that no software can connect.

The footswitch is passive, no power.
Rod
