Greetings All,
I want to try running digital during the next Field Day. I have Flrig working and following PowerSDR. I have Virtual Serial ports set up 3 pairs but I'm not getting the audio right - no decode/display. Any pointers appreciated.

Windows 10 ,12 cores 16 GB - lots of beef
Fldigi - not working yet
Flrig
N3FJP logging program - not configured yet

Have you set up a virtual audio cable to pipe PowerSDR VAC audio to Fldigi? You will also need another virtual audio cable to pipe Fldigi back to PowerSDR for transmission.

Here's what mine looks like. Fldigi or WSJT-X needs to be set up for the other end in/out. Don't forget to activate VAC1 on the main panel.

Thanks Bob, that seems logical. I'll give that a try and report back to the forum.

Well I have had lots of luck. All of it bad. Thetis or PowerSDR will not start the radio. Looks like I have it hosed real good.

How are you connected? Did the setup program find your radio?

I am connected again. I have Thetis 2.8.11 running as I type this. I installed the setup program and it installed without error. I had to quit all the VSP and VAC so I can make it work without error. I am finding lots of setup for Flex Radio. Some of the dialog boxes are not same. I was able to get Flrig to follow Thetis frequency. I'll poke at it come more, I'm not ready to give up yet.

So you have basic connection made.

There is a version of PowerSDRmRX better configured for the HL2 here:

I find the easiest to setup and use is SDR Console.
Here is the HL2 page

I tried PowerSDR and the Beta11, both are corrupted. Thetis still works. I'll give the SDRConsole a try.

Well more luck, all bad. Thetis is broke, so is my VOIP phone for the house and Windows 10 was unusable.  After a format and reinstall I have the system usable for my home phone. This has been a disaster as I was not able to find a go-by for setting up digital modes that worked. The ones I did find were 7 years old. I have spent almost a week and am nowhere. I configured my Icom in less than one hour. I give up.

Have you seen this page for running SparkSDR as a skimmer and dedicating 1 receiver to WSJT-X.

If you want one for fldigi I will try to make one for that program as well.

Hi Larry,

I am sorry to hear of your misfortunes. This is the first case out of 500+ users where I've heard of VOIP breaking and Windows 10 becoming unusable. Others are better at answering PowerSDR and Thetis on Windows questions as I don't commonly use those software packages. Most of the time I use Linux and run either SparkSDR for skimming multiple bands, or Quisk with WSJT-X. I see from your QRZ page that you use Linux. Have you tried Quisk with WSJT-X on Linux? One nice feature of Quisk is that it will automatically create any "Virtual Audio" connections needed via PulseAudio. This has worked out well for me and been easy to use. Quisk may do the same on Windows but I am not sure. Also, SparkSDR manages all the "Virtual Audio" connections required. It will do this on Windows, Linux (even Raspberry Pi) and Mac. Many people like to use SparkSDR for digital modes because of this convenience.

The software wiki page is where we try to keep links to all software and setup related information:

Some software packages do have extra notes on digital mode setup. We can always benefit from more and better documentation. All it requires to edit this wiki is a free github account. I also post .pdf format notes and documentation that users send me on that wiki page.

I have no interest in WSJT-X, I'm going in a different direction.
