Hi Reid,

I see there is a new build for Thetis - 2.10. Do you know if there is any plan on merging these latest changes into the HL2 Thetis fork? In particular I’m looking for the fix for pure signal.

Thanks

Craig

Friend of mine with an HL2 loaded it up and said it solved his Pure Signal drop-outs. I have it on my ANAN 100 Hermes with the same result.

Craig .. there are many of us waiting for Reid's update. There's an I/O project which has code going into Reid's release. The issues that we are waiting on,  PureSignal WDSP 1.21 and fixes for the transmit  Drive slider for the HL2 version. I've been checking it 2x a day for a month now! Yesterday I checked it 3 x  😁

Larry,
What’s going to happen if I try and install the Thetis 2.10.0.0 build for the anan and try and use it for the HL2?  Will it work?

Hi Larry,

I was holding off on releasing anything until we had firmed up the IO protocol a bit more but I will make a release in the next couple of days without the IO board changes. The release will include a fix for the PS and better control of the output power at lower levels. Unfortunately the lowest output power is still around 0.7-0.8 watts but there is not the initial big jump. I though it wasn't going down to the full attenuation but it was, it just wasn't going in 0.5 dB from there up.

Cheers

Well, the high "lowest output power" issue is a consequence of the limited
hardware capabilities (there is no fancy programmable attenuator, period).

For a work-around, you need a dirty trick:

Scale down the IQ samples. To make this work with PureSignal, you have to
scale up the TX DAC feedback samples by the same factor. This essentially
solves the problem but it remains to be seen whether the reduced
resolution affects PureSignal.

Of course, scaling down the IQ samples can be combined with the hardware
attenuator. So for a given drive slider, chose the largest attenuation such
that the signal is stronger than desired, and scale down IQ samples for the
rest (and scale up feedback with that factor)

@Reid: Is it this which you have in mind?

Hi Christoph,

At this stage I just wanted to provide the 0.5dB step across the range
but I will have a look at what you have done for future releases.

Cheers
