piHPSDR IP adress not found

to Hermes-Lite

Installed piHPSDR on a fresh Raspi4/64 OS. When starting piHPSDR it does not find HL2 ip adres (no local devices found). Also entering 169.254.19.221 in the radio ip addr / discover does not connect HL2.
On W11 with Spark, HL2 starts with standard ip 169.254.19.221 immed.

Any suggestion?

look like network problem did you try to ping 169.254.19.221 ?
check settings "Link-Local" for wired connection .. examine front lights from hermes

On my Linux laptop, I have to switch the wired connection IPv4 settings in Network Connections from "Automatic (DHCP)" to "Link-Local Only" in order to connect to the HL2 directly. I'm not sure where that setting would be on the Pi. You could also try plugging the HL2 into the router and see if you can connect that way.

Thks all for valuable input and suggestions.

1. Connected HL2 to router --> Connection and piHPSDR working

2. Tried the suggestion from Jim/N1ADJ and switched to Link-local Only. --> Connections and piHPSDR working.

Link-local only setting can be found under Connection icon - Advanced Options - Network connections. Select Ethernet and select a connection to edit (wheel right to minus on the bottom of the screen. Tab IP4V Settings and select from drop down "Method" Link-Local Only.

Next steps:

i) Big learning curved Raspi / Linux commands

ii) RTFM (or read the f.... manual) of + 200 ages for piHPSDR :-). But luckily a lot is the same like the Thetis setup under W11.

iii) When all is wortking locally set up remote station.
