Hello everyone,

I'm a new user of the Hermes Lite 2 and just getting started, so please excuse any very basic questions — I'm still learning 😊
First of all, thank you all for keeping this project alive and well-documented.

I recently received the IO board, and inside the box I found a 10-pin male header. However, after checking the official assembly guide (link below), I noticed that it only shows three individual pins in the location where the header should go.

I'm confused about this discrepancy:

  • Am I supposed to cut the 10-pin strip and only use 3 pins?

  • Should I solder the pins directly to the PCB with standard soldering (I assume yes)?

  • Could someone confirm exactly which pins to install, and why it differs from the one I received?

I'm attaching a few photos of what I received and the link to the official assembly guide I used.

Any help from experienced HL2 builders would be greatly appreciated. I'm eager to get the IO board fully working but want to be sure before soldering anything.

Warm regards from Spain,

Cut off the 3 pins you need.  You will have extra pins for your junk box.

I am getting old and not seeing straight… Solder to the main HL2 board not the filter board!
