When I got my HL2 and filter board, I also got (portrait-mode) end plates and acquired the enclosure myself. So I don't have the heatsink shim that's apparently now included. What do you recommend for adequate heatsinking? Can I get that shim separately somehow? Thanks.

My HL2's are early ones modded to build9. I posted a picture not so long
ago.
For heatsinks, usual at the time as recommended, I used copper sheet
about 1.5mm thick bolted to the side of the enclosure and in contact
with the FET tabs.
No problems with that arrangement.

I use the earlier 55mm enclosures with both of mine also. I installed the fan in the rear endcap, runs cooler than the 40mm enclosure with the shim did. The shim won't fit your 55mm enclosure anyway.

I also have the 55mm enclosures bought off EBay.
In addition to the copper (2mm thick) for the FET's I use tangential
blowers above the FPGA heatsinks with an exhaust slot cut in the side of
the enclosure.
I never ordered a Makerfabs enclosure --That's news to me that they only
supply the 40mm enclosure -- just checked their website, so shim only
fits the 40mm enclosure.
My endcaps were ordered from JLCPCB I think.
