Hi all, I recently set up my Hermes Lite with the pihpsdr software running on a raspberry pi 3b+ with the latest OS downloaded from the official pi site.  I installed the pihpsdr using the instructions at...  https://github.com/g0orx/pihpsdr/blob/master/release/documentation/pihpsdr-install.pdf         It works great in 'no controller' mode but as soon as I switch to 'controller1' and hit start, the program just locks up.  I've triple checked my wiring to the vfo and 3 other encoders and made sure the proper pins for the gpio was entered.  Any expert advice would sure be appreciated since I'm running out of other things to try.

Thanks,

Kevin / KC7IYU

You have to check I2C.
Menu> Preference> configurations>  check I2C.

so it was by me.

I checked that all peripheral com was turned off per the tutorial.  This is just using version 1 of the controller without the I2C expansion circuit.  Still not working.  I'm beginning to think the latest OS / pihpsdr downloads only work with the Pi4 now.
