I have an RS928 /Juma 100d clone and already upgraded the firmware from 1.05Q to the latest version with the posibility for the serial control/rs232.

I want to interface the controller directly with an ESP32 with webinterface or serialport over tcpip and have been studying the schematics of the control bord. From the pic controller there are 2 x 2 lines that go to the RS232 converter (IC10). I suspect that pin 11 and 12 are the RX/TX ttl signals that are being converted to rs232 for the output. The ESP32 uses 3.3v logic and the pic 5v.

I am not completly sure how to interface this.
Do i need to use an FT232RL to connect the ESP32 or an logic level converter?
Anyone have tried this before?

Any help or ideas would be helpfull.

Thanks

Ronald

I use MAX3232 board directly connected to RS232 TRS port of Juma Clone and output of MAX3232 is fed into FTDI to USB Adapter. This adapter has got 3.3/5v jumpers to quite handy. In my case FTDI to USB adapter is connected to Pi for controlling amp using a NodeRed flow.

If you use this same setup , FTDI adapter can be directly connected to ESP32 as well.

Hi! I build a full web based controller for the RS928 amplifier based on a WT32-ETH01. It's mandatory to use a RS232 to TTL level converter board to interfacing with the RS232 port of the amplifier. I'm able to control all features of the amplifier, even powering on and off with a dedicated relay to short 2 pins of the controller board.1000011471.jpg1000011472.jpg

@ea5jxp , great work. Is there a possibility to share the source code of this ?

Super project it looks really good. would it be possible to share the programming code for esp32 and maybe state which hardware is used and maybe a few drawings that describe the connection between hardware. then there is a small chance that I can figure it out 🫣
