HL2 + mAT-705 ATU

Hi,

Does anybody has any experience using HL2 with a mAT-705 antennetuner? If so, pro'and cons?

HI Ronald,

I don't know the details about the mAT-705, but I recommend getting an ATU that is compatible with the Icom AH-4 protocol supported by the HL2, or can be configured to auto tune on RF present such as the ATU-100.

instead of the AT-705, I've gone with a prebuilt ATU-100 from Banggood:

And then did the low power mod as described here:

And it works very well.  You can either program the pic to autotune when the SWR is over 1.3:1, or add an external button to turn autotune on and off.

Removing 5 turns from the tandem match isn't that hard to do.  

And all for less than $100.

Thks both. mAT-705 works with an IC-705. I will check out the ATU-100, I know another ham who has one.
