Hi Group

This is probably a question directed at Matthew M5EVT, but thought I would post it in case anyone else also spotted this problem.  I have been using the latest version of linHPSDR for a some time and its my favourite app for SBB voice modes.  I noticed recently that the new compressor settings dont retain what I set them to.  I have compressor enabled and set to 5 but each time I exit the program and restart it compressor is unchecked and the slider is at 0 (leveller setting is fine).

Any thoughts or advice on what I could be doing wrong?

Hi Paul,

You are doing nothing wrong. I haven't put the code in to save the settings yet!

I will try and update it over the weekend. I also want to add some more bands to the TX EQ and investigate what frequencies "high, mid, low" etc. changes.

PureSignal is still on the radar for finishing off this weekend too.

Hi Matthew

That’s amazing thank you really enjoying using this version I have had many really good QSOs with excellent signal reports! I can’t wait to test out pure signal so look forward to hearing when it’s ready to put it through its paces.

I haven’t really used the equaliser but happy to give it a go I’ve just added a new studio condenser mic to my setup so worth a try.

Hi John

I've tried quite a few recently but have purchased a "Fifine K669B" based on excellent reviews.  Its a cheap microphone around 40 pounds from Amazon but I have compared it with a Behringer C1 and Audio Technica AT2020 the sound quality and sensitivity is better with the Fifine.  I am using it with a home made PTT switch into the HL2 and LinHPSDR with leveller on and compression at 4.

Highly recommend it for the cost I think its hard to beat.

I have used a 50p or 50c mic insert for years. They are all flat to
umpteen kHz.

The real key is getting equaliser settings suited to your voice with the
hardware you are using. Makes an enormous difference. I get compliments
on my audio all the time. Switch off the equaliser and the default audio
is no were near as good. At least with a duplex SDR you can see that you
have a nice audio spread with lows and highs. The only pain is the high
audio latency so it can be difficult to set it up by listening to your
self. With the low latency Teensy audio hardware solution coming along
that should hopefully be solved.

Also adjust the Rx equaliser settings such that they are set correctly
for your room, speakers, headphones, hearing etc.

Don't accept defaults from software - play!
