Hi All,

For futher development using high data rates (fat pipe) some nice opensource code is available for adding sata or pcie the following link:

http://enjoy-digital.fr/cores.html

Maybe an alternative for ethernet protocol.

Enjoy

Hi Johan,

Thanks for the link. It is nice to see more open source IP, especially with strong Python use!

Another option for fatter pipe interconnect, especially if you want to use a small FPGA, are the FTDI USB 2.0 and 3.0 ASICs. The interface is very simple so not much is required in the FPGA. I think the USB 2.0 sells for <$4.00.

I still like the ethernet protocol as it is a commodity standard, and the device can be placed 10s of meters away from the host. Do you not like ethernet?

Hi Steve,

Sharing the link was just informative. Not to say don't use ethernet.

I have plans to connect the radioberry board to an ftdi chip and control the radioberry via usb using a pc.

Ordered the um232h board.

Will inform te group the results.
