I have searched the group and don't see a resolution to the issue I am having, so...

I'm using HL2 with Thetis HL. When I transmit using MOX, transmit stops after a few seconds then starts to work again after 3 or 4 seconds. Any help on what to check would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The HL2 can stop transmitting if the PA gets too hot or if your internet connection has high latency variability. Are you using wifi? Please see the no TX power wiki page. Also, eliminate the ethernet connection by using a CW key down to test TX.

Thanks Steve,
Per you suggestion, I discovered the temperature readout at the bottom right of the screen. It was going from 30C to 55C in 3 or 4 seconds. Obviously  a heatsink installation mistake by me. I had not scratched/sanded the paint away to bare metal (I did that.) Then I applied conducting compound and made sure all surfaces  were mating with good contact. After testing, I am able to key MOX for over 2 minutes and not get over 48C.

Just for my reference and yours (in case these numbers are not normal) . With 100% power and Tune pressed into a 50 ohm dummy load: PA amps are 2.0 amps. MOX with out speaking into the mic = 1.6 amps. If this all is normal, I'm a happy camper and thanks again for the quick response.
