Hi my friend recently bought HL2, but there is a problem, I am forwarding his question:

HL2 160M band 2 Spurious signal +-1850khz and +-1920khz it's the same with the rest of you?
I'm a sun sdr user and I don't have this problem there on 160m, same linear power supply, same PC.
Linear power supply and same without antenna and connected with 50ohm dummy load. I would just like to know if it is due to internal spurios from hl2.....

Hi Bojan,

They look like spurs from one of the voltage regulators on the HL2. This is a know problem and there is an option to move them outside the 160M band to above 2MHz.

The option Setup|General|F/W Set|Hermes Lite Options|Disable PS Sync should not be checked.

This options disables the power supply clock generated by the FPGA. If disabled, the spurs will free run and move about at the top of 160M.

Cheers

Hi Bojan, if you look at the Facebook group, Carl Gran had a problem also with a voltage regulator that had to be replace it was making some kind of noise also, look to is post to see if that is the cause, and if it's the same voltage regulator.
