I have a hermes lite 2. Installed thetis step by step using YouTube video series. On power up, the unit works perfectly. After five minutes it starts to get adc overload. After ten minutes, it loses connection, and will not work until about 24 hours of cool down time. Adding heatsinks to the main ICs let's it run for upto 15 minutes, then the same failure happens.
When I attach a MFJ dummy load, which should guarantee against an ACTUAL adc overload, the same symptoms appear.
The unit initially works perfect, then the noise floor starts rising, then ADC overload, then a huge rise in the noise floor followed by a lost connection of the unit by thetis until a 24 hr cool down.
I have searched extensively for a voltage chart or perhaps a troubleshoot guide for device failures, but I was directed to join this group and post here. I would also like to point out that my neighbor, who introduced me to the hermes lite, also owns one. When this unit is plugged into his setup, the exact same thing happens. So, this is not a software failure, it is a hardware failure. Has anyone had a similar experience? Does anyone have a voltage chart, or perhaps information on what to look for at the various test points on the board. Does anyone repair these for less than the cost of buying another one?
