Just ordered the Hermes-Lite V2 so new to this ballgame. Currently running a Flex 5000 and KE9NS version of PSDR. Am I going to have issues when I set up the HL and OpenHPSDR (i.e., clashing with KE9NS PSDR) and, if so, is there a way to mitigate issues?

Thanks,
Mike / W8DN

HI Mike,

If you use the PowerSDR Beta-11 (https://github.com/mi0bot/OpenHPSDR-PowerSDR/releases/tag/v3.5.0_Beta_11) , it uses a different database path, so shouldn't interfere with your other version of PowerSDR.  Just in-case, backup your database cos there are no guarantees.

Cheers

Hi Reid,

Have you hard-wired the database path in your version?

I want to have two database versions, one for SSB/CW and one for digital
'cos PowerSDR never ever remembers all the settings when one changes
from on to the other inside the program. Always several things not
ticked right.Easistes solution was two databases but ....

However despite following this albeit old guide I'll be darned if I can
get it to use anything but a single database location.

http://kc.flexradio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50469.aspx

I duplicated your database folder and gave the folder a modified name.

I created two shortcuts pointing to the appropriate folders but it
always defaults to your original database folder.

C:\Users\Duncan\Downloads\OpenHPSDR_3_5_0_Beta_11\Release\PowerSDR_beta11.exe
-datapath:"C:\Users\Duncan\AppData\Roaming\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR
mRX PS HL2"

and

C:\Users\Duncan\Downloads\OpenHPSDR_3_5_0_Beta_11\Release\PowerSDR_beta11.exe
-datapath:"C:\Users\Duncan\AppData\Roaming\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR
mRX PS HL2 SSB"

I can get around it by re-importing the appropriate database and
restarting the program but that's a kludge.

Thanks

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

Try the following:

PowerSDR.exe -dbfilename:"C:\Users\Duncan\AppData\Roaming\FlexRadio
Systems\PowerSDR mRX PS HL2\SSB.xml"

and

PowerSDR.exe -dbfilename:"C:\Users\Duncan\AppData\Roaming\FlexRadio
Systems\PowerSDR mRX PS HL2\Data.xml"

The first time will create a new database which you can configure for
that mode.

I have never played with this and just found it in the code. I did try
the -datapath with no success a while back.

Let me know how you get on.

Doesn't want to work.

Looks like it still insists on looking for 'Database.xml' regardless of
what it is told.

One more for you to look at and probably also applies to Thetis.

If you switch on RX2, regardless of RX2 being on a different band or
frequency, it's panadapter display and waterfall just duplicate whatever
RX1 is set to. I can't get it to show what is on RX2.

Hi Duncan,

When I tested it, I was in the debugger and I was able to watch do the
correct thing. I just tried using a short cut and a BAT file and neither
would work, it still picked up the default database.

I'll look at in Thetis.

I'm not seeing the issue with RX2, I always get a second receiver with
the correct waterfall and panadapter displayed for VFO B. Have you tried
a database reset, that appears to be the standard cure-all for these issues.

Database reset fixed the issue.

Thanks
