HL2 + IOboard -- How to control AH-4 ATU

I have a AH-4 sitting around and I wanted to attempt to get a very long wire setup on it and interface it with the HL2 (with IOboard).   Is there some howto or documentation that explains how to do this? I see AH-4 protocol is supported in HL2... but not obvious how to begin.

I use a AH-4 ATU without the IO board:

It would be better to add or use support with the IO board though.
