Since I don't have a Phone Jack in hand I have tested without it through power sdr looks all fine except the output power is showing 7watt average.

Now today I would like to Test through the PTT jack CN4. COULD you please let me know whether I need to short pin 3 with Ground or pin 2 with ground or I need to short both pin 3 and 2 with ground to Transmit for SSB

Hi Prober,

The output power is incorrect in PowerSDR as we use a different measurement than openhpsdr. Perhaps Reid has updated this to read correctly in his PowerSDR fork.

To engage PTT, you ground the ring (middle conductor) of a stereo phone jack. Ground is the sleeve or the conductor farthest from the tip. The tip is for CW. There really is no need to use PTT via CN4. Most everything should be done over software. It is there for some special requests in the past. Ideally, you should only have ethernet, power and antenna connected to your HL2. This allows you to operate remotely or in the same room, with no differences.

Hi Steve, Prober,

Yes, the fork does show the power in the correct range but would need to be calibrated before relying on it.

Prober, do you have experience of PowerSDR from other SDRs?

Cheers

Hi Reid,

Yes, I have experience on POWER SDR with HERMES for past 2 years.  Is it the same way HPSDR hermes has been calibrated to read correct values – if the same is being performed in HL2 should do – OR SOME other way OUT you figured out – kindly share that will be interesting.

Till now I used power sdr so a little bit inclination is there – BUT later on WILL try QUISK AND SDR Console

Hi Probir,

The "stock" powerSDR, when configured for the Hermes, should show about 80W power out. The HL2 version uses the Anan 10 routines which expects power out about 10W.

I'll contact you directly with details of where to get the HL2 version, which is still experimental.

Cheers
