I actually finally figured out another way....maybe the easiest way, when using an SDR switch to use your Hermes Lite 2 and Thetis to CAT control your legacy HF transceiver: for use as a higher power transmitter:
1, Download VSPE (or other virtual com port creation software.)
2. Download Rig Sync.
3, Use VSPE to create a virtual connected com port pair - e.g., com ports 14/15
4. From Thetis Setup, select Serial/Network tab.
5. Under CAT1 Control, select com port 14 and note your desired baud rate. Click Enable to connect Thetis CAT1 to com port 14 created in step 3.
6. Start Rig Sync and setup Radio 1 as Kenwood TS-2000 on com 15 with same baud rate you selected in step 5. This connects Thetis to Rig Sync (since com 14 and 15 are shared).
7. From Rig Sync, setup Radio 2 as your legacy HF Transceiver. Be sure to select the correct enhanced com port of your HF transceiver.
8. In Rig Sync, be sure the Sync tab has both radios selected.
Hope this helps anyone trying to use an SDR switch with Hermes Lite 2 and a legacy HF transceiver!
