Hi,

Searched the group but didn't find any reference to the RC-28. Does any know if it's possible to use the RC-28 controller with the HL2 and Thetis?

Hi Dean

I’m affraid this proprietary hardware/proprietary protocol hasn’t been developed to work with non-Icom stuff

So far, all OpenHPSDR Windows- based softwares could be used with the Hercule DJ Console MP3e2 (and if I remember well, PiHPSDR is also « Hercule compatible »). The first version of this hack has been made by Tobias DH1TW,

https://dh1tw.de/how-powersdr-ui-users-set-up-their-dj-consoles/

and later integrated in the PowerSDR configuration files.

Configuration of the many buttons, sliders and jog wheels is located under the « Setup/CAT/Configure MIDI » PowerSDR and Thetis menu

Any rotary encoder with a microcontroler able to emulate a mouse can also be used (and more or less, that’s what the Andromeda vfo button does) .

John G0orx wrote a sort of howto dedicated to this kind of HMI, but I’m unable to retreive this paper (it was during the early days of PiHPSDR’s development). Probably on his blog https://g0orx.blogspot.com/ or somewhere among the many whitepapers located in the OpenHPSDR repositories

Hope it will help

Appreciate the response Marc. I have a couple MIDI capable devices and a Griffin PowerMate that I'm going to look into taking advantage of.
Love the feel of the RC-28 though. Shame it can't be used.

Thanks

Look at the CTR2-Micro from Lynovation.com
Works with The HL2 and Thetis !
RC-28 will not work with the HL2

Awesome. On the list for a CTR2-Micro.
