Hello everyone,

I've been able to make a custom code to run the LDG 1000 Pro II tuner.

It is designed for this type of setup

HL2 (5W) → Pre-drive amplifier (~60W) → Final tube amplifier (~700W) → LDG AT-1000 Pro II → Antenna

You can find the modified code and the uf2 file on my github

https://github.com/Aleziss/HL2IOBoard-LDG-AT1000-ProII

There are known limitations that are being worked on from Thetis side but it does work on my end.

If you have a different amplifier setup maybe you can try it but all this is provided as is, read the documentation correctly as there are changes from the original code.

Hope it can be helpful to other users !

For the one interested with the IO Board, I added a couple more features that were not fully impletemented with the original code or were completely missing. These features include:

  • LDG Integration: Control of the LDG AT-1000 Pro II via a modified Icom AH-4 protocol (Requires tuner firmware V1.7).
  • Amplifier Control: Integrated interlock logic on J6 Out5 to protect both the tuner and the amplifier during tuning.
  • Band Voltage: Supports Yaesu FT-817 analog band voltage on J4 Out8.
  • BCD Band Decoder: 4-bit Yaesu-standard BCD output on J6/J4 Out1-4.
  • RF Input Mode Control: Option for a dedicated receive antenna on ALT RX SMA connector J9 with adaptive predistortion sampling on PURE SMA connector J10.

Those features can be useful to control low pass filters, amplifier band change, antenna switches depending on band.

With the addition of being able to use a second receive antenna plus the original goal of my project, have the LDG tuner work with amplifier bypass seem now complete.

I hope you find this firmware helpful if you have the IO Board.
